Edwin P. Smith, Esq. has been actively engaged in the practice of law in state and federal courts in Philadelphia and southeastern Pennsylvania since 1967. He has been involved in representing clients in cases involving all types of personal injury matters, insurance contract disputes, insurance company "bad faith" cases, commercial, corporate and business matters, real estate and decedents' estate transactions and litigation, consumer rights class action litigation, administrative agency hearings and litigation, matrimonial matters, criminal law and workers' compensation litigation. For the past ten years he has concentrated in the area of legal malpractice cases.
He has been certified as a mediator by the Dispute Resolution Institute, Inc. and approved as an arbitrator and/or mediator in the Court of Common Pleas of Philadelphia, and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
He is a member of the Philadelphia and Pennsylvania Bar Associations and the Philadelphia and Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Associations. He has lectured on many occasions in Philadelphia and its surrounding counties at continuing legal education seminars.
He was appointed as an instructor for the Rosemont College Accelerated Degree Program in business and employment law.
He is an active member of the Philadelphia Bar Association's committees on Professional Responsibility, Civil Procedural Rules and Professional Guidance.
